Healthy ageing

Life expectancy has increased worldwide in the past 20 years, but this increase has not come with improvements in the quality of life.

The focus now needs to be adding more years to life by developing communities that foster abilities of older people, delivering responsible integrated primary health care services, and including them into communities.

The 2020-2030 UN Decade of Healthy Ageing promotes older people inclusion into the society, public policies to ensure there are adequately trained human resources and long-term care for ageing populations by partnering with others in the Healthy Ageing Collaborative.

“It is not true that people stop pursuing dreams because they grow old, they grow old because they stop pursuing dreams...”

― Gabriel García Márquez

Our Approach

We promote public health approaches through the use of tools to identify potential risks to limitations of functionality early on, and the means to increase functionality and independence for ageing populations, including that of self-management of chronic conditions. This approach is expected to benefit all ages and is alined with initiatives on the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing.

We also provide a platform and opportunities for generations to interact and share the life-time experience to preserve heritage and capture important messages and skills for healthy ageing.
